Augescens is the personal blog of a student of life becoming incrementally less ignorant every day.
The author formerly worked as a teacher and researcher of European history while pursuing a doctorate at an elite university. After several years in this role, he withdrew voluntarily and in good academic standing in order to start a new career. In the search for a new direction, he chose to study the art and craft of software development (read about that choice here), and undertook an intensive study of programming principles, techniques, and tools, as well as their mathematical foundations. He now works as a software engineer. He writes posts on this site to help tell the story of his career change and ongoing journey.
